Chan Bik Ceu

Welcome

Welcome to my website. I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Seoul National University, specializing in comparative politics, ethnicity and nation-building, History, Politics, and Economy (HPE), and political mobilization. My research focuses on how ethnicity transforms into a nation, which I examine in my dissertation through the frameworks of latent primordialism, political shocks, and networked mobilization. Methodologically, I use a mixed-methods approach that combines qualitative and quantitative analysis, including survey experiments and fieldwork interviews.

My academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from Yadanarbon University in Myanmar, followed by a master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Incheon National University. Beyond academia, I have been actively engaged in community service through youth organizations, churches, and civic initiatives, and I have dedicated nearly a decade to pro-democracy activism in Myanmar. This website serves as a platform to share my research, ideas, and experiences, and to contribute to broader discussions on politics, society, and nation-building.
